Mini sessions
Mini sessions are perfect for smaller families, or those who haven't had family photos taken before and are unsure how it will go. They're also great for marking the seasons and the passage of time.
The shoots are quick, just 40 minutes each, and we don't spend any time walking around at our chosen location. The gallery yield is small and the variety limited to combinations of people in the pictures: for example whole family, children together and children separately.
Mini sessions are not suitable for large extended groups made up of more than one family unit, or families with a newborn. They are only available in the Marple area. We can use my studio or go to an outdoor location for a mini session.
Full sessions
Most of the best photos are taken near the end of a photoshoot. Sometimes it takes a while for children to warm up and for their loveliest smiles to come out. Sometimes these things can't be rushed. My full sessions are not timed. They take however long they need to. I will travel up to 45 minutes from Marple for these sessions. I can go further for a reasonable extra fee.
I am pleased to offer two types: at home or outdoor photoshoot.
At home is perfect for capturing the early days with a new baby, or on bleak winter days when it's too cold, too wet and too grey outside. No need to worry about the weather forecast or how the kids are going to behave, because home is their comfort and they get to do fun things like jump on your bed, or make a mess in the kitchen (aka "bake"). If you have a garden, we can of course use it too.
At home shoots are relaxed and happy.
Outdoor family photos on location are what I'm best at. These are filled with fun and adventure for your little ones, and what I often hear from the parents is how much everyone enjoyed themselves. The children apparently still talk about it long afterwards. Of course it helps to have the prints up on the wall as reminders! This takes place at your favourite location and you can personalise your experience by bringing a picnic, games, bikes, kites... I'm open to pretty much anything.
Outdoor photoshoots are a family day out.
